Especially older motorcycles are still equipped with a drum brake, especially in the rear wheel. Such a drum brake consists of two crescent-shaped brake shoes mounted on a fixed brake anchor plate, which cannot rotate with the wheel. Surrounding it is the brake drum, which is attached to the wheel and thus rotates with it. When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake shoes are pushed outward so that they come into contact with the brake drum. The wheel is slowed by the friction which then occurs.

The brake shoes are lined with a material with high frictional resistance, the brake lining. When the brake pedal is released, the brake shoes are pulled back in by springs.

The brake lining is subject to wear and therefore the brake shoes must be replaced from time to time.

When you select the make, type and year of manufacture of your motorcycle in our search system you will automatically find the correct type of brake lining for your motorcycle.
